Poster Guidelines

Posters should highlight and summarise the main findings of your research.

  • The maximum poster size is A0: 84.1 cm x 118.9 cm. (33.1 inches x 46.8 inches).
  • Posters should be made in a portrait page orientation, i.e. shortest edge along the top/ bottom.
  • The paper title and all authors should be presented at the top of the poster.
  • There is no set format, however, typically posters include a brief introduction, experimental results, conclusions, and references.
  • Please use easily read fonts and avoid pairing red and green elements to assist those with red-green colour blindness.
  • Presenters must remove their posters after the poster session. We assume no responsibility for posters that have been left behind.

All presenters must print and bring their posters with them. There will be no poster printing facilities available on site.

Poster Award

Web Of Talents is an online platform that gives maximum visibility to talented researchers working in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), and it facilitates recruitment tasks to professors and team leaders looking for students and postdocs. This award recognizes the best poster presentations at the 2D TMDs 2025 conference.

Prize:

The first winner will receive 1,000 USD plus one commemorative plaque.

The second winner will receive 500 USD plus one commemorative plaque.

The third winner will receive 250 USD plus one commemorative plaque.

Evaluation criteria:

The posters will be graded by anonymous evaluators who will be present at the conference site during the posters sessions. The poster hanged should clearly present the problem that you are trying to solve, the state-of-the-art methods used by others to trying to solve it, the approach that you have used to solve it and why it is suitable, the methodology and protocols followed, and the conclusions extracted. If any of these points cannot be covered in the poster due to space limitations, it is expected that the presenter is able to articulate good answers when asked by the evaluators. It is particularly important that you showcase your technical skills, emphasizing which experiments you can do and which machines and/or software you can use, and which contributions were made by other co-authors. The committee will evaluate the depth of the technical content, the clarity of explanations (including format of the slides), and communication skills in English. The work done by others must be clearly indicated and cited. Presentations must be objective and claims of potential applications must be realistic; making unreasonable hype will be seen negatively by the committee.

Platform information:

Registering in Web Of Talents is free. It has three types of profiles:

  1. Candidates, which are students and postdocs looking for a position in academia or a job in the industry. They can apply for job offers, and their profile can be used as personal website for free.
  2. Leaders, which are professors in universities and group leaders in research centers and companies looking for students, postdocs or staff to join their group. They can post job offers and, even better, proactively search for suitable candidates in our database and send them an invitation to have an interview.
  3. Institutions, which are universities, research centers and companies looking to recruit people at all levels, including students, faculty, and scientists.

Candidates having a profile in Web Of Talents benefit from maximum visibility among their research community. Top candidates stand out very easily thanks to our unique filtering, ranking and video features. Professors and team leaders can benefit from access to a long list of top candidates looking for a position, and detect who are the best with a couple of clicks. The platform is available in Desktop and Laptops (still not in smartphones). For technical issues related to the platform please send an email to [email protected]. Web Of Talents has been created by scientists to help other scientists. Register today and start to enjoy its benefits for free!
